Dhanishta Nakshatra by Prash Trivedi
Dhanishta is a constellation in the sky represented by four stars arranged in a rhombus shape, known as Alpha Delphini, Beta Delphini, Delta Delphini, and Gamma Delphini. It is located in the dark empty space above the constellations of Makara and Kumbha. The name "Dhanishta" translates to "wealthiest" or "most beneficent" and its alternative name is "Shravishta," meaning "most heard of" or "most famous," suggesting its lucky qualities. The main symbol of this Nakshatra is a drum, specifically a damaru, which represents music and hollowness, symbolizing receptivity to outer influences. It follows the Nakshatra Shravana and is associated with the process of synthesizing what has been listened to. Dhanishta is presided over by a group of eight gods called Vasus, each representing different elements such as water, the pole star, a stream of water, wind, and the moon. Overall, Dhanishta is associated with wealth, fame, music, and timing.
