Norwegian actress, probably best known for her roles in the movies "Mors hus" (Mothers house) (1974), "Reisen til julestjernen" (The Journey to the Christmas Star) (1976), and her 2006 monologue "Min forestilling om mor" (My play about mother). Børsum had her debut in the movie "Jakten" (The Hunt) in 1959, and worked at Oslo Nye Teater from 1979. Børsum was president of the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre from 1989 till 1992. She retired from regular performance in 2005, with her role in the play "The House of Bernarda Alba" by Federico García Lorca. Børsums mother, Lise Børsum, was involved in the Norwegian resistance movement during World War II and was incarcerated in the Ravensbrück concentration camp. When she returned she abandoned her husband and child to spend her time helping people who struggled with the aftermath of the war. Bente later wrote a monologue based on her mothers books, interviews, articles, and letters. This monologue was first performed in 2006 and garnered rave reviews. It has subsequently been performed on most theatre stages in Norway. Link to Wikipedia biography Read less
