British psychic, spiritual healer and author, famed as a teenager for bending metal, treating poltergeists and speaking in languages for which he was not educated. Matthew was a pupil in boarding school when, at age 11, the poltergeist activity began. Suspended twice, he was put in a psychiatric hospital, but finally he discovered that he could control the physical effects around him by producing automatic drawings. Focusing on the name of an artist, he was able to produce drawings in that artist’s style, drawings so excellent that they were able to fool even art critics. Later that year, he underwent a series of tests at the New Horizons Research Foundation in Toronto, Canada, where scientists discovered that he was producing a heretofore unseen brain wave pattern that originated from the central, oldest and most primitive part of the brain. In 1974, his first book, "The Link," was published, creating an international sensation. It was published in 16 languages and sold over one million copies. The follow-up book, "In the Minds of Millions," was released in 1977, the same year that Matthew vowed to only be involved in research that would positively benefit others. For the next five years, he was extensively tested at the Mind Science Foundation in Texas, at the University of California and at London University. Since that time he has lectured around the world, speaking to such prestigious groups as the Royal Society of Medicine. He appears on television regularly, and his most recent book is "The Strangers." Link to Wikipedia biography Read less
