American shooting at a military base. At about 1:30 PM, gunshots rang out and several soldiers and civilians lay dead and injured. First reports were of 12 dead and 31 injured; the numbers were later upped to 13 dead and 42 wounded. The supect, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, is an Army psychiatrist who was stationed and practicing at the Fort Hood Darnall Army Medical Center. Hasan is a US citizen but investigators are looking into possible links to foreign terrorists. Read less
