## Nyiregyhazi Ervin (1903-1985)
Nyiregyhazi Ervin was a Hungarian-American pianist, composer, and educator. He was born on January 19, 1903, in Budakeszi, Hungary. Ervin began playing the piano at an early age and gave his first public performance at the age of seven. He studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and later at the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin.
In 1920, Ervin made his debut in the United States. He quickly gained recognition for his virtuosic playing and expressive interpretations. He toured extensively throughout the world, performing with major orchestras and giving solo recitals. Ervin also made numerous recordings, which showcase his brilliant technique and musical sensitivity.
In addition to his performing career, Ervin was also a respected composer and educator. He wrote a number of piano pieces, including sonatas, études, and preludes.
