Zacharias Antoine is a French politician who has been a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the East of France since 2019. He is a member of the Union pour la Moselle (UPM), a local political party in the Moselle department.
Antoine was born in Sarreguemines, France, in 1939. He studied law and political science at the University of Strasbourg and began his political career in the early 1970s. He was elected Mayor of Sarreguemines in 2008 and served in that role until 2017. In 2017, he was elected President of the Union pour la Moselle.
In 2019, Antoine was elected to the European Parliament. He is a member of the European People's Party (EPP) group and serves on the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on Regional Development.
Antoine is a strong supporter of European integration and has called for a more united and democratic Europe. He is also a vocal advocate for the rights of the Moselle department and its people.
