Borge Erik was a Norwegian trumpet player, conductor, and composer. He was born in Oslo, Norway on October 22, 1924. He studied trumpet at the Oslo Conservatory of Music from 1946 to 1950. He made his professional debut as a trumpet player in 1951.
Erik was a member of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra from 1952 to 1956. He was also a member of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra from 1956 to 1962. He was the principal trumpet player of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra from 1962 to 1976.
Erik was a soloist with many orchestras around the world. He also recorded a number of albums. He was a professor of trumpet at the Norwegian State Academy of Music from 1976 to 1991.
Erik was awarded the Norwegian King's Medal of Merit in Gold in 1994. He was also awarded the Norwegian Music Exporters' Award in 1996.
Erik died on April 7, 2006, in Oslo, Norway. He was 81 years old.
