Biography: Busby Gerald is an American politician and farmer/rancher who served as the 55th Lieutenant Governor of Texas from 1999 to 2003.
Gerald was born in Abilene, Texas, and graduated from Abilene Christian University. He served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960.
Gerald was elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 1966 and served until 1972. He was elected to the Texas Senate in 1972 and served until 1998.
In 1998, Gerald was elected Lieutenant Governor of Texas. He served one term and was defeated by David Dewhurst in the 2002 Republican primary.
Gerald is a member of the Republican Party. He is married to the former Linda Sue Gardner, and they have two children.
