American politician, a former member of the legislature and a candidate for Lt. Governor in 1990. On 2 January 1994, she became a talk show anchor woman as host of a nationally syndicated TV late-night show "Claprood Live" on Lifetime Cable TV, available in 57 million U.S. homes. She was a lobbyist in Washington, then a State Rep for six years. After losing the gubernatorial election, she was asked to fill in on WHDH, a morning talk show, which in turn led to a chance to have a TV show on New England Cable News. A pretty, modern blonde, she finds that TV is as empowering as politics but with a larger audience, especially as Lifetime TV channel is run by women and has programs aimed at women. For the November 1998 election, Claprood was the candidate for Congress in the Massachusetts 8th district. She stressed her legislative on such issues as the national epidemic of women in poverty, preserving senior health care, and stopping domestic violence. Link to Wikipedia biography Read less
