American academic and writer on race and racism, her books include White Lies (1997), Cyber Racism (2009), Being a Scholar in the Digital Era (with Polly Thisthelthwaite, 2016), Going Public (with Arlene Stein, 2017) and Nice White Ladies: The Truth about White Supremacy, Our Role in It, and How We Can Help Dismantle It (2021). She is a Faculty Associate at the Harvard Berkman Klein Center and a (Full) Professor of Sociology at Hunter College, and affiliate faculty in Africana Studies, Critical Social Psychology and Sociology at The Graduate Center-CUNY.
