Dominique Gutknecht (born May 2, 1959) is a French politician and former professional footballer who played as a central defender. Born in Hericourt, Gutknecht began his career with local club FC Sochaux-Montbéliard in 1978, and went on to make over 500 appearances for the club over the course of two spells.
**Political career**
Gutknecht retired from football in 1995 and entered politics, being elected to the French National Assembly in 1997 as a member of the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP). He served as mayor of Sochaux from 2001 to 2008, and was re-elected to the National Assembly in 2002, 2007 and 2012.

Gutknecht is currently a member of the Committee on Sustainable Development and Regional Planning in the National Assembly. He is also a member of the France-Germany Parliamentary Friendship Group and the France-Switzerland Parliamentary Friendship Group.
