American businessman who has been the owner, president, and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL) since February 1989. He bought the floundering franchise that year and within the span of ten years, he helped to lead the team to three SuperBowl titles and six conference titles. The success of the team has been a testament to the sheer genius of Jones. As both a salesman and showman, Jones is a decision maker who has never shied away from taking either credit or blame. Especially prevalent with Jones is his ability to market anything, including his team. He managed to make the Cowboys, once again, into "Americas Team." Jones also developed the concept of making NFL games into corporate events. He is an influential man not only within the realms of his team, but also within the realms of the league. Jones holds several seats on NFL committees that are in charge of everything ranging from the formulation of TV contracts to changing the fundamental rules of the game. On the downside, Jones is known as an egomaniac who will win at any cost. He has also been accused of nepotism in appointing several family members to key positions with the Cowboys organization. In addition, the mid-90s saw his team under fire for off-the-field scandals that seemed to be occurring with his players on a seemingly weekly basis. On 31 January 1993, he had his first Super Bowl victory in Pasadena and his second on 30 January 1994 in Atlanta. After back-to-back Super Bowl wins, the football world was again startled when Jimmy Johnson left, largely due to conflicts with Jones. He was replaced by Barry Switzer on 30 March 1994. The Cowboys brought in a third Super Bowl victory on 28 January 1996 at 7:49 PM MST in Tempe, Arizona. However there were ongoing conflicts with fellow NFL owners during the 1995-1996 seasons regarding endorsement deals and revenue sharing. NFL instigated a suit against Jones but it was settled out of court. Through 1996 and 1997, the Cowboys suffered a number of scandals, arrests and drug suspensions. Many blamed Jones for too much tolerance and a lack of moral guidance for his team. Jones is often vilified by fans who remain bitter at his unceremonious firings of longtime Cowboys personnel who were fan favorites, head coach Tom Landry and general manager Tex Schramm, even though the Cowboys had done poorly the last few seasons before Jones became owner. Jones made his millions in the realm of real estate. He has developed several multimillion dollar neighborhoods in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Jones is married and has three children. Stephen serves as the Cowboys chief operating officer/executive vice president/director of player personnel. Charlotte serves as the Cowboys executive vice president and chief brand officer. Jerry Jones Jr. is the Cowboys chief sales and marketing officer/vice president. Link to Wikipedia biography Read less

In Vedic astrology, the placement of the natal lagna (Ascendant) in Virgo, particularly within the Uttar Phalguni nakshatra, combined with Mercury in the 1st house in Virgo and positioned in the Hasta nakshatra, forms a unique and dynamic astrological configuration. This combination can provide insights into an individual's character, personality, and life path. **Virgo Lagna and Uttar Phalguni Nakshatra:** Virgo is symbolized by the Maiden and is ruled by Mercury, which imparts intellectual acuity, analytical skills, and a penchant for detail. Those with Virgo rising are typically practical, diligent, and possess a methodical approach to life. With the lagna in Uttar Phalguni, there's an influence of Sun's energy (the nakshatra's ruling planet), which adds leadership qualities, a sense of duty, and a desire for organization and structure. This nakshatra supports a person who seeks harmony and balance in relationships, both personal and professional. **Mercury in the 1st House in Virgo and Hasta Nakshatra:** Mercury, as the lagna lord, placed in the 1st house in its own sign of Virgo, strengthens intellectual capabilities and communicative skills. This placement enhances the natural Mercurial traits of adaptability, curiosity, and astuteness. Individuals with this position are often articulate, quick-witted, and excel in roles that require precision and mental agility. The placement of Mercury in Hasta nakshatra, ruled by the Moon, brings a dual influence. Hasta is associated with skill, craftsmanship, and dexterity. This placement heightens the individual's ability to think creatively and approach problems with innovative solutions. It fosters a blend of logic and intuition, allowing for a balanced and effective manner of dealing with life's challenges. **Overall Synthesis:** This configuration suggests a person who is not only pragmatic and insightful but also capable of leading with empathy and understanding. The native is likely to be detail-oriented, organized, and excel in fields that require analytical thinking and effective communication. Challenges may include overthinking or being overly critical, but the strength of Mercury’s placement provides a robust foundation to navigate such tendencies successfully.
