**Biography:**
Labouchère, Françoise Marie Madeleine (née, Leroy), French pianist and pedagogue, born in Saint-Jean-le-Vieux, France, September 18, 1917; died in Paris, France, December 19, 2002. She was a student of Alfred Cortot at the Paris Conservatory. She won First Prize in piano of the Conservatoire de Paris in 1932 at the age of 15, making her debut the following year. Labouchère made many recordings, especially of the works of Claude Debussy, and was a highly respected performer of French music. She also served on the faculty of the Paris Conservatory from 1943 and taught piano at the University of Michigan from 1973 to 1975.
In 1965, she received the Grand Prix du Disque from the Académie Charles Cros. She was made a Chevalier of the Légion d'honneur in 1980.
