American homicide; a teenager when he lured another 14-year old, Shaun Ouillette, to a wooded area and bludgeoned him to death with a baseball bat on 11/20/1986. After the murder, he took two pals to see the corpse and they kept the secret for weeks before finally telling someone. A privileged and hyperactive child who took Ritalin, he was an underachiever and had many behavior problems in school. Slight in build with red hair cut in a punk style, he was the youngest of five kids with a mom who worked and was often home alone. Able to watch hours of TV, he was fascinated by a four-hour video entitled "The Faces of Death." In October 1986, Rod wrote a note to his coach at his school saying that he had been lighting fires and that he felt like burning down a house or killing someone. He was tried as an adult at the age of 15 for the murder, and was the youngest person in the U.S. to plead not guilty by reason of insanity. He was convicted on the charge of second degree murder on 3/10/1988. Private reports say that Rod was a warm boy, very bored and depressed in adult prison with no education or training available. His parents, normal, sound people with their own construction business, were trying in 1990 to get him into a juvenile facility and counseling on an adolescent level. Read less
In Vedic astrology, the natal chart or "janma kundali" can provide insights into an individual's personality, potential, and life path. When the natal Lagna (Ascendant) is in Virgo, a mutable earth sign ruled by Mercury, it indicates a personality that is analytical, detail-oriented, and practical. Virgos are known for their methodical approach, strong sense of duty, and an inherent desire for perfection. They often possess a keen intellect and a drive to serve others, reflecting their natural inclination toward health, wellness, and organization. Having the Lagna in the Hasta Nakshatra adds another layer of meaning. Hasta, represented by a hand, is associated with skill, dexterity, and resourcefulness. Individuals with this placement often excel in fields that require precision and craftsmanship. They are adaptable and can easily grasp new concepts, making them versatile in various pursuits. The influence of Hasta can also bring a nurturing quality, as it is ruled by the Moon, which adds a softer, more empathetic touch to the Virgo's inherent qualities. With the Lagna lord Mercury placed in the 11th house in Cancer and in Ashlesha Nakshatra, there is an emphasis on communication, networking, and social connections. The 11th house relates to friendships, aspirations, and gains, suggesting that the individual may find success through their social circles and collaborations. Mercury in Cancer indicates a sensitive and intuitive communicator who can connect with others on an emotional level. It adds depth to the individual's intellectual capabilities, allowing them to understand nuances and read between the lines. The presence of Mercury in Ashlesha Nakshatra, ruled by the serpent god Naga, implies a complex and strategic mind. Individuals with this placement may possess a deep insight into human nature, making them adept at understanding underlying motives and navigating complex social dynamics. This nakshatra can also bring a transformative quality, with the potential for personal growth through overcoming challenges and embracing change. Overall, this chart combination suggests a person who is intelligent, adaptable, and capable of using their skills and social networks to achieve their goals.
