**Maystadt Philippe** is a Belgian politician who has served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) since 2019. He is a member of the Movement Réformateur (MR), part of the Renew Europe group in the European Parliament.
Maystadt was born on March 14, 1948, in Verviers, Belgium. He studied law at the University of Liège and began his career as a lawyer. He entered politics in 1982, when he was elected to the Belgian Chamber of Representatives. He served in the Chamber until 2014, when he was elected to the European Parliament.
In the European Parliament, Maystadt is a member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs and the Committee on Legal Affairs. He is also a substitute member of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs.
Maystadt is a strong advocate for European integration and has been a vocal critic of Brexit. He is also a supporter of free trade and has called for the European Union to take a more assertive stance in trade negotiations.
