French professional wrestler Pican Pierre was born on Wednesday, February 27, 1935 (age 88) in Granville, France.
Got his ring name from his judo coach, Robert Pican.
Competed in judo and Greco-Roman wrestling before beginning his professional wrestling career in the late 1950s.
Won the French Heavyweight Wrestling Championship in 1969.
Retired from wrestling in 1976.
Inventor of the figure-four leglock, which he called the "La Sophistique" (or "The Sophisticated").
Was inducted into the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame in 1996.
Currently resides in Granville, France.
