French actor of Algerian descent, known for his starring role as Malik El Djebena in the 2009 award-winning French movie A Prophet by Jacques Audiard, FBI Agent Ali Soufan in The Looming Tower, Judas in the film Mary Magdalene and playing Charles Sobhraj in TV series The Serpent (2021). He won the 2010 César Award for Best Actor for A Prophet. Rahim has demonstrated multilingual skills and an ear for accents, having acted in Corsican and Arabic in addition to French in A Prophet, and in Scottish Gaelic for his role as the Seal Prince in Kevin Macdonalds The Eagle. In 2021, for his portrayal of Mohamedou Ould Salahi in The Mauritanian, Rahim garnered critical acclaim and nominations for the Golden Globe Award, and the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Rahim is married to fellow Algerian-French actress Leïla Bekhti, whom he met while filming A Prophet in 2007.
