American television producer and author, awarded three Emmys for Outstanding Drama Series for his work on the CBS soap, The Bold and the Beautiful. He was raised in Michigan and attended the Michigan State University. At a young age, he starred on several small-time television shows and radio stations. In the 1950s, he moved to New York and was taught by the actor Lee Strasberg. In New York, he was employed as a photographer and an actor. In 1983, he moved to Los Angeles and later worked for CBS as an associate producer in 1986, mainly working on The Bold and the Beautiful. Ron Weaver, a member of Indiana University's 1967 Rose Bowl team, died Wednesday at the age of 84.
Weaver was a two-time All-Big Ten selection at defensive back and was also a member of Indiana's 1967 Big Ten championship team.
After his playing career, Weaver worked as an assistant coach at Indiana and Purdue before becoming the head coach at Ball State from 1982 to 1985.
Weaver was inducted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame in 1993.
