French fencer, lawyer and military officer. He won a gold medal in the team foil event at the 1932 Summer Olympics and a silver in the same event at the 1936 Summer Olympics. He then became a lawyer, and the president of the Bar of Paris. He fought in World War II and served as General de Lattre de Tassignys chief of staff.
