American pitcher who played 14 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Milwaukee Brewers (1991–1999), Chicago White Sox (2000–2001) and St. Louis Cardinals (2003–2005). He was selected by the Brewers in the first round free-agent draft pick on 5 June 1989. He was placed on the disabled list in the 1995 and 1996 season. He was named American League (AL) Rookie Pitcher of the Year in 1992. Following his playing career Eldred worked as a college baseball analyst, pregame color analyst and minor league instructor.
