When Gunther died in 2001, his son Mark took over as manager of the animals. Feld also produces Holiday on Ice, Walt Disneys Great Ice Odyssey, Ice Follies, and in Las Vegas, Siegfried and Roy. Mark Gebel was accused of elephant abuse by animal rights groups and went to trial on 12/17/2001. Feld stood by him at the four-day trial before he was acquitted.
