English actor, filmmaker and musician known for his versatility, expressive "big" acting style and portrayals of often villainous characters. For his work in film and television, Oldman has won two BAFTA Awards and the Saturn Award, and received nominations for Emmy and Screen Actors Guild Awards, as well as the Palme dOr. Highly regarded by critics, peers and audiences, he acquired the label of the greatest actor never to win the Oscar, until he won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour (2017). He played Sid Vicious in Sid and Nancy (1986), Joe Orton in Prick Up Your Ears (1987), Lee Harvey Oswald in JFK (1991), Count Dracula in Bram Stokers Dracula (1992), and Ludwig van Beethoven in Immortal Beloved (1994). Films in which he has starred have grossed over $10.9 billion. Outside of acting in film, Oldman wrote and directed Nil by Mouth (1997); featured in television shows such as Fallen Angels, Tracey Takes On... and Friends; appeared in music videos for David Bowie, Guns N Roses and Annie Lennox; and provided the voice of Viktor Reznov in the Call of Duty video game series.
