Truhaut Ren was born in Pouzauges, France on May 23, 1909. He studied law and political science at the University of Paris, and became involved in politics as a young man. He joined the French Communist Party in 1934, and was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 1936. During World War II, Truhaut Ren was a member of the French Resistance. He was captured by the Gestapo in 1942, and was imprisoned at the Drancy internment camp. He escaped from the camp in 1943, and continued to fight against the Nazis until the end of the war. After the war, Truhaut Ren returned to politics. He was elected to the National Assembly in 1946, and served until 1958. He was also a member of the European Parliament from 1979 to 1984. Truhaut Ren was a prolific writer and speaker. He published numerous books and articles on politics, history, and social issues. He was also a passionate advocate for human rights and peace. Truhaut Ren died in Paris on August 16, 2001. He was 91 years old.
