American business executive, President and Chairman of Boise Cascade Corporation from 1956 according to a company history (some sources give 1957). A 1947 graduate of Harvard Business School, he is credited with significantly expanding the companys presence and diversifying its product lines after he took over the helm. Time magazine reported in its edition of December 20 1963 that in the six years under his leadership, the company grew into a "major enterprise and a magnet for Eastern-trained executives."
