Oates Warren is an American actor who has appeared in over 100 films and television shows. He is best known for his roles as Lieutenant Colonel Sam Troy in the 1966-1971 television series "Combat!" and as Commissioner Gordon in the 1989-1992 television series "Batman".
Warren was born in Madisonville, Kentucky, on July 5, 1928. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War before beginning his acting career in the mid-1950s. He made his film debut in the 1956 film "The Last Wagon" and has since appeared in such films as "The Great Race" (1965), "Bullitt" (1968), "The Wild Bunch" (1969), and "The Poseidon Adventure" (1972).
Warren has also had a successful television career, appearing in such shows as "Gunsmoke", "Rawhide", "The Twilight Zone", and "The Rockford Files". He is perhaps best known for his roles as Lieutenant Colonel Sam Troy in the 1966-1971 television series "Combat!" and as Commissioner Gordon in the 1989-1992 television series "Batman".
