Olmer Jean was a French actor and comedian.
He made his film debut in 1929 in the film "Le gendarme est sans pitié" and went on to star in over 100 films.
He was known for his roles as the lovable and bumbling detective Jules Maigret in the series of films based on the novels of Georges Simenon.
Jean also appeared in several stage productions, including the original French production of "Waiting for Godot" in 1953.
He died on June 15, 1999 at the age of 94.
