American career military man who joined the Air Force on November 1940. He ran missions over Europe during WWII. In 1946 he was released from active duty but returned a year later. After additional combat duty during the Korean War, he took on several assignments in administration and training, ultimately rising to Major General in 1964. Sianis earned several medals and honors along the way, including the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, and Bronze Star. He retired from the Air Force on March 1, 1973. He died on February 6, 1988. Read less
