Belgian businessman, the son of Raymond, 1st Baron Vaxelaire, husband of Nadine Regout (descendant of Petrus Regout), and the father of Roland Vaxelaire. He was vice-president of the 1958 Universal Exhibition in Brussels. In 1960, he took over the management of the Bon Marché department stores, founded by his grandfather. He orchestrated the merger into GB-Inno-BM and becomes its president. He developed the new entity and gave birth to the GIB Group, the leading Belgian distribution group, of which he was chairman. He sat on the board of directors of Bon Marché de Paris, in which he held around 15% to 25% of shares, before selling his shares to the Agache-Willot group in 1970. In 1971, he founded the Quick restaurant chain in Belgium, the first fast food restaurant introduced in Europe. He died on 5 November 1990 at age 69 in Bioul.
