Hunter Kim

Bio

Hunter Kim was born on November 12, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan. He is a public figure, author, and speaker. Kim's career began in the military. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. After the war, Kim worked as a journalist and public relations specialist. In 1968, Kim founded the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF). AALDEF is a non-profit organization that provides legal assistance to Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Kim has written several books about the Asian American experience. His most notable works include "The Asian American Movement" (1983) and "The History of Asian Americans" (1990).
