### Wilkinson Bond
Wilkinson Bond is a composer, keyboardist and vibraphonist working primarily in jazz, Brazilian music and film soundtracks. He is an enthusiastic champion of gamelan and very involved with the music of Bali. Bond's work includes contributions to more than 250 film soundtracks. He has collaborated with many improvisers, including Steve Lacy and Anthony Braxton, and composed for a variety of ensembles, from the Rova Saxophone Quartet to the Ahn Trio. Wilkinson Bond is also a gifted vibraphonist with a distinctive percussive style that draws equally on jazz, world music and contemporary classical music.
Wilkinson Bond is a prolific composer and performer who has released over 30 albums as a leader, including both solo works and collaborations with a wide range of musicians. His most recent album, "Interchange," was released in 2020 and features a mix of jazz, Brazilian music, and gamelan-inspired compositions.
In addition to his work as a musician, Wilkinson Bond is also a dedicated educator and arts advocate. He has taught at several universities, including the University of California, Berkeley, and the California Institute of the Arts. He is also the founder and director of the non-profit organization Gamelan Sekar Jaya, which promotes the study and performance of Balinese gamelan music in the United States.
