Peruvian physician and health administrator who is the current Minister of Health since July 2020. She previously held the position from February 2004 to July 2006, and was briefly Minister of the Interior from July 2006 to February 2007, being the first woman to reach that position in the Peruvian government. She studied medicine in National University of San Marcos, where she has been Professor for many years being loved and admired by generations of students. During Alejandro Toledos presidency, she was Minister of Health, also being the first woman in that area.
