Perry Ellis Lee is an American businessman and philanthropist. He is the founder and former chairman and CEO of Perry Ellis International, a global fashion company.
Lee was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, and attended the University of Alabama, where he earned a degree in business administration. After graduating, he served in the US Army during World War II.
In 1948, Lee founded Perry Ellis International, which began as a sportswear company. Under Lee's leadership, the company grew rapidly and became a global fashion powerhouse.
Lee is a philanthropist and has supported numerous charities and organizations, including the Perry Ellis Foundation, which provides financial assistance to students in need.
Lee is married to Mary Ellen Lee, and they have two children.
